The following fields are required to complete an Object sheet import:

Inventory Number
Object Status

Inventory Number

You may use your own Inventory numbering system. We recommend that you use a combination of letters and numbers, not simply 1, 2, 3, and so on. Every Inventory number must be unique, and CS will let you know if any Inventory numbers in your import sheet are not unique.

Object Status

The Object status indicates if the piece you are adding is Current, Deaccessioned, or Incoming.

Current: the piece is under your ownership and part of your collection.

Deaccessioned: the piece has been sold, gifted, or removed from your collection but you would like to save the record for future reference.

Incoming: the piece is under the process of being acquired but it is not yet under your ownership.

Loan In: This Loan status indicates that the object(s) are on loan to your collection from another collection, location, or institution.

Loan out: This Loan status indicates that the object(s) are on loan from your collection to another collection, location, or institution.

Loan Returned: This Loan status indicates that the object(s) were on loan from another collection, location, or institution and have now been returned back.
